I have outlined below a description of the Extended Day Program so that our whole school community is aware of what we offer.  We are now conducting the extended day program at the St. Sebastian Parish Center.

To meet the needs of the parents of St. Sebastian School, the Faculty and Staff will continue our Extended Day Program.   We provide quality care in a safe and familiar environment.  It has been very helpful to parents who have to work and will give them peace of mind knowing their children are in the hands of professional caregivers.   To further accommodate our parents' needs, we will now offer a split session on any given day.  See fee schedule/registration form for further details.

We recognize that each child is an individual who works at their own pace.  Our goal is to work with students and help them complete their homework on their own.

This supervised program is available to students in Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grades.   

The program hours are from 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM - Monday through Friday.

The program is available on early dismissal days (First Friday of each month), but not including half days before long vacations.  The Extended Day Program is only open when school is in session. A typical afternoon might be as follows: (time approximate)

2:45 - 3:00 P.M. 
  • Attendance taken at school, students/teachers go to Parish Center for Snack
3:20 -  6:00 P.M. 
  • Supervised homework (not tutoring). Program is not designed to accommodate one on one supervision but group supervision. 
  • The children will be encouraged to complete as much homework as he or she is capable of completing. 
  • Studying is to be done at home with parent supervision. 
  • Upon completion of homework students will be able to participate in the Parish Center supervised activities in the gym or stay in the Extended Day room and have use of supervised computer programs.

  • Latest time for pick up of child/children

Please be aware that snacks will be provided by the program.  Health snacks are provided to the best of our ability. Your child may bring a set of play clothes, if you desire.   If your child is enrolled in the program but will not be attending on a specific day, please notify the school in writing, with the exception of illness.  A phone call is required for absences for any student who will not be attending on any given school day.

Gym Items needed: Sneakers, jeans, t-shirts or sweatsuits

PICK - UP:  Children may be picked up at any time prior to 6:00 P.M. They must be picked up by an adult.  It is also very important that parents/guardians sign students out and note the time of student pick up. The latest time to pick your child up is 6:00 PM. Children will be released through the front entrance of the school on Woodside Avenue.  Failure to pick up your child by 6:00 P.M. will result in a penalty of:

$10.00 for the first 15 minutes

$15.00 per 15 minute period thereafter

If you are late picking up your child more than three (3) times, your child will be removed from the program.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

Parents will be sent a registration form for the month prior to attendance.  Days of attendance must be indicated and payment made in advance and received by the 6th of each month so that adequate supervision may be assigned.  Payment must accompany monthly registration.  Credits will be issued to your account toward your next month's balance.  It is important that the registration form be sent in the beginning of each month with the emergency contact information required.  Late fees will be charged for any payments received after the 6th of the following month.
